A portfolio full of screenshots can look impressive.
But screenshots do not explain how you work.
If you want your portfolio to support your career, show the story behind the work.
What was the problem?
- Who was it for?
- What did you need to understand first?
- What constraints existed?
- What options did you consider?
- Why did you choose your approach?
- What went wrong?
- What changed after feedback?
- What would you do differently now?
These questions reveal something much more useful than a list of technologies.
They reveal how you think.
This matters because professional work rarely arrives as:
“Build exactly this thing using exactly these tools.”
Instead, you receive incomplete information.
- You investigate.
- You clarify.
- You make decisions.
- You build.
- You test.
- You receive feedback.
- You adjust.
That process is what employers and clients need to understand.
Your portfolio does not need twenty projects.
A few pieces of genuine work, explained properly, can tell a much stronger story.
Do not just show what you made.
Show how you got there.
