Infrastructure, Security & Architecture

Solutions Architect

Understand the problem before deciding how to build the solution.

What you’ll work on

  • Translate client requirements into technical architectures, including stack selection, data flow, integrations, and scaling considerations
  • Produce architecture diagrams, technical proposals, and estimation documents
  • Compare build-versus-buy options such as SaaS, APIs, and custom development
  • Work with development teams to keep implementation aligned with agreed technical direction
  • Understand the trade-offs behind technical decisions rather than choosing technology for its own sake

Professional capabilities you’ll develop

  • Understanding systems at a whole-product level
  • Turning business requirements into technical decisions
  • Architecture and trade-off analysis
  • Technical estimation and scoping
  • Communicating technical ideas to technical and non-technical people
  • Evaluating build-versus-buy decisions
  • Working with development teams during implementation

Technologies and practices you may work with

  • System design
  • Architecture diagrams
  • Stack selection
  • API and integration design
  • AWS architecture
  • Technical proposals
  • Estimation and scoping

Examples of real work

  • Architecture blueprints for client products
  • Technical proposals for real client opportunities

Who this suits

You enjoy seeing the whole system, asking what should be built before deciding how to build it, and thinking through technical trade-offs. This is generally a later-stage track.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites are a starting point, not a promise that you already know everything. You're expected to learn during the experience — but you also need enough foundation to participate in real work and take responsibility for your own progress.

Solutions Architect

  • Solid development experience
  • Understanding of APIs, databases, and web applications
  • Familiarity with software architecture concepts
  • Experience working with Git and development workflows
  • Ability to understand technical requirements
  • Generally suited to candidates with prior development experience — not an entry-level role
